Thank you for your interest in volunteering for ASAP's Farm Tour on Sept. 18 and 19. As a volunteer you spend one afternoon (from 12-5 pm) on a farm checking in and greeting visitors. In exchange for your time, you receive a free tour pass (good for a whole carload of visitors) to use on the day you aren't working. It's a fun and rewarding weekend of connecting with local farms, meeting visitors from across the region, and getting a behind-the-scenes look into the operations of working family farms in Western North Carolina. All participating farms are located within one hour of Asheville.
We are watching rising COVID cases carefully and will follow current state recommendations on the Farm Tour. In addition, we may ask volunteers and staff to wear masks, even outdoors.
All volunteers must be at least 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult.
To sign up for the tour:
1. Complete this Google form.
2. Mark your calendar for the volunteer orientation date you select below. All new volunteers are required to attend our volunteer orientation during which we cover tour guidelines and volunteer roles.
3. Volunteers are given farm placements 1-2 weeks prior to the tour so that you can connect with farmers (via email or phone) to introduce yourself beforehand.
