Platinum-selling band BlackHawk revisits their impressive catalog of songs on new two-disc Greatest Hits record Just About Right: Live From Atlanta (out on November 13), which features live performances of hits such as "Goodbye Says It All," "I Sure Can Smell the Rain," "That's Just About Right" and more.
Among the album's standout tracks is a live rendition of "Every Once in a While," a 1994 hit for the band.
Lead singer Henry Paul says the song, which he penned with Dave Robbins and the late Van Stephenson, is a staple of every BlackHawk show.
"I think we all have a story of first love and its enduring character. 'Every Once In A While' is a snapshot of that memory and its lasting quality," Paul tells Wide Open Country. "This was a song that Van, Dave and I wrote early in our group's formation. It was our first number one record and is the most widely played song in our catalogue. Any BlackHawk show simply must include this song if it's to be a complete performance."

Just About Right: Live From Atlanta was recorded live acoustically from Eddie's Attic in Atlanta, Georgia.
"This live acoustic album brought together many of the original members of the BlackHawk band from the early 90's — Dave and I along with Bobby Huff on percussion and Dale Oliver on lead guitar," Paul says. "We got a chance to play together again and that made for a very memorable musical moment. Many of the songs we chose were personal favorites from our early records spanning nearly a decade. Having this music that's so special to us performed by the people that helped create, it sets this double live album apart from anything we've recorded and released. I especially love the acoustic nature of this collection because it casts these songs in the true spirit in which they were written."
BlackHawk released their debut single "Goodbye Says It All," from their self-titled album, in 1993. In 1995, the band released Strong Enough, which featured the top 5 country hit "I'm Not Strong Enough to Say No."
Band member Dave Robbins says recording the live album reminded him of BlackHawk's early days.
"Making a live BlackHawk acoustic recording takes me back to when Henry, Van and I started writing and singing together as a trio," Robbins says. "It's representative of BlackHawk in its purist form, having old friends join us on stage and tried-and-true fans makes everything 'just about right' on that special night in Atlanta."
