Chow Chow Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer for 2019 Chow Chow: An Asheville Event set for September 12-15, 2019. We will need hundreds of people to put on this event and appreciate your interest in being a part!
A few items about being a volunteer:
you must be at least 21 years old to serve as a volunteer (and must have a valid I.D.)
we will try and place you in the exact area or event you are interested in, but space is limited so if you really want to attend an event, we recommend you buying a ticket in order to do so
your position may change onsite depending on what is happening the day of. We ask that you are flexible and maintain an open mind when being a part of Chow Chow
you will be asked to attend a one hour training session in August (date TBD)
if you serve alcohol you will need to pass an online TIPS certification course prior to Chow Chow
failure to perform duties as expected/required may result in your dismissal from the Volunteer Program
use of alcohol and/or controlled substances before or while on duty is strictly prohibited. Violators will be subject to immediate dismissal from the Volunteer Program
you will need to sign a waiver of liability in advance of the event
we are looking for volunteers who are friendly, helpful, and professional - and enjoy people, hospitality and culinary events
you will need to wear the assigned volunteer attire, which will be discussed at the volunteer orientation
we ask that you report on time and complete your entire shift - be flexible and willing to assist both staff and patrons
Benefits of being a volunteer:
Access to a Volunteer Lounge sponsored by Pubcorps that will be open throughout the weekend. The Lounge will have snacks, lunch, and other treats to enjoy.
Volunteer Uniform (TBD)
Access to attend the event you work, after your shift. Access depends on the time frame of your shift and some events do not have seats available so volunteers would receive access to another event (such as Pickled in the Park) in those cases.
Deadlines: we will begin reviewing applications in mid-August to make assignments. You will hear back by then with details on the training and selections for Chow Chow
